A CITY-WIDE PRAYING, FASTING, AND PREACHING MOVEMENT calling the church across Houston to walk with Jesus
2026 overview
Awaken Houston 2026 marked the tenth year of a citywide movement of prayer, fasting, and gospel witness across Greater Houston. Centered on the theme Walking with Jesus: Light Up the City, the season invited believers into a simple yet powerful posture of taking faithful steps with Jesus. Churches, ministries, and individuals from across the city joined together during Lent to prayer walk day by day and street by street, believing God would transform lives, renew His Church, and bring awakening to Houston.
Throughout the season, participants prayer walked neighborhoods, schools, workplaces, and communities across the region, demonstrating the power of a united Church pursuing God's purposes together. More than 3,000 people took part, completing over 15,000 prayer walks and covering more than 28,000 miles in prayer.

While we did not quite reach the 100,000 mile goal this time, we are grateful for what those miles represent, prayers prayed and people lifted up across neighborhoods all over our city, and we may just be getting started.
What we experienced over these past weeks does not have to stop. In many ways, this can be the beginning of a continued rhythm of prayer across our city.
We are going to keep tracking our collective prayer walking throughout 2026.
So keep walking. Keep praying. And let’s keep lighting up the map.
